lost and stray dogs

Late night of May 11 2005, there was a stray dog that was woundering the street in front the place where I'm currently staying at and this pictular dog was woundering the area for the last few days and last night this young small dog, must be a few yrs old, and didn't look well either. Anyways, what really bugs me so much is that dog owners let their dogs roam the streets or forgets that they left their dogs outside. Back to what I was saying, this dog what looked like a terrior (sp?), has a white coat with a big brown spot on his ear and around his right eye, and with a blueish color with no tag. So, this dog started to hang around my home and finaly called up the Animal Shelter to see if there was a report of a missing dog matching this description but nothing close. Anyways, before I left to take this youngish dog to the shelter I started to feel really guiltly for taking this dog down to the shelter and even more so after leaving the shelter because this dog didn't even want to stay. But even now I still feel guilty and really bad, sort of, for the owners of this dog by not knowing where their dog is, and what might happen to this dog if he doesn't get a new home or return to his old home. It just makes sick that in some cases that people don't really care for their dog's or other pets that they might have. They would just have pets for just because, which is no good reason at all. maybe more to come... laters peter

Well, I have one class to go to then I would be free from school for at least 2 weeks - maybe - still don't know if I would be taking a class this summer for 6 weeks. Anyways, had the last class on Monday night which was fun but quiet to say the least. Now the problem is working out my schedule for the fall term. I can't decide if I want to take 3 classes or not. I might just 2 classes that I need to get out of the way this fall, think I'll be talking to someone about class schedule for the fall. Here I am babbling like a rabbit again. Seems at this point while taking classes, school just seems to take forever to finish. Plus, there is way too much bullshit that's happening in my life right now, including people giving me weird looks and giving me the bird for no apparent reason that I know of, no matter where I'm driving or walking to or from like I'm a fucking idiot or someone who's downright insane who shouldn't even be walking around. I'll just be glad when major changes in my life come to pass and hopefully leave Fairbanks, maybe after I get my degrees or sooner. Frankly, for some reason, I'm waiting for one or both provable (correct word ?) shoes to drop this summer. Now, I'm curious what's really going to happen this summer and the rest of the year, just have to see as it happens. Anyways, I just have a feeling that something going to happen this summer, and it would be more than likely that it would something bad - not to bad that is. But, I could be wrong in this case. laters Peter

I've found interesting stories and such thro the various news feeds that I've gathered since starting use of bloglines.com. There were many article's that I've found to interesting enough to comment on or link to, but after a bit of time it (article's) just seems to be no longer held any interest for me to comment on. There are or were articles that are, in a way, related to class but by the time I would get around to post a like and make a comment on any specific article, like wiki's, blogs, and broadband articles where I just don't feel like to do anything about posting something to this blog or to my other blog, or even to this blog, but the latter blog is specifically for sports though. Anyways, I'm babbling like a rabbit again and I have a long day ahead of me too. Maybe more stuff to come... laters peter

Over the last several months or since the weather has been warming up is that I've been getting these weird looks directed at me for some unknown reason that I can't fathom on why people are looking at me for like I'm kind of freak that shouldn't leave my own home for any reason. It doesn't matter where I'm driving to, whether if I'm going to one of my classes downtown or to the class that I have in the Art Complex or to one of the computer labs on UAF's main campus for doing some homework for 2 of the 4 classes that I have. When people do look at me whether or not if I'm in my car or walking to a building (post office, supermarket or wherever) I get a look that says that I'm not suposed to be there or that I have a big red bulls eye on my forehead, on my back, or even on my car. Granted I need to get my car washed and into the service department of the Nissan dealership to have a very major servicing done. The looks that I have been getting recently, just gives me another reason that I should move to the lower 48 as soon I get my degree's in Business Administration and maybe in Technology too. Plus, its to the point where I need to have a very major change in my life - like moving back to the lower 48. Anyways, I'm just tired to a lot of bull shit that I get no matter where I go here in Fairbanks, Alaska. I do my best about being friendly towards to other people. For example, I like to keep doors open for the ladies when ever I can or when people have boxes of mail leaving the post office on Geist Road. Still, the weird looks and the bs that I'm getting is bugging to the point where I just don't want to take anymore classes, going to the gym on a semi regular basis, and even to the supermarket. Sometimes, no matter when I'm driving there is usually someone that drives like there isn't enough time to get to their destantion so they would rush to get where their going to. Recently, as I was heading downtown for one the classes that I'm in and for some reason I had to go to fourth avenue so I could get to the parking garage and this older guy, along with a woman in a big 4 door ford truck pulls along side and gets in front of me regardless that I had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting this guys trucks rear end. People complain the way I drive around town. Maybe my driving could be better, but still, people drive like their always in a mad rush to get somewhere. I've also noticed over the years living here in Fairbanks that 8 out 10 times that people rush past will get the red light, and yet I get to the light at the same time that the person that rushed past to get to the intersection. I've seen this type of driving all over town, and its just makes me sick that people would rush to any giving intersection and slam on their brakes, and would expect to get through the intersection. laters all peter

I have noticed recently at various places, which I won't name here, have, to a point, high-turnover in employment of people. Its unbelievable what the turnover is like at several places here in Fairbanks (AK). Granted I could see where some people are coming from and the like. However, its not to much to say that it could be the management style of the business or people not fully doing the work at their place of employ. But, then I could be asking for torture, since I could, however unlikely, that I'm thinking if the people at my old job would welcome me back or not, it could be worth a shot or not. Who knows in what could happen about that. Anyways, as you might have noticed by this post I'm trying to get another job or at least I'm looking and putting in applications around town. Just haven't heard back from a couple of places but I wasn't expecting a call from those places anyway. I tend to like to put applications in when I can, just for the sake of trying at the possibility of getting hired on. Plus, I like to work in groups most of the time and in other times alone. I found this story about The Simpsons which I got a chuckle out of it because I remember watching The Simpsons when it was on The Tracy Ullman Show back in the late '80s. Plus, in a way I still can't believe that this series has been on for so long too. This is one of the show I try to remember on watching on consistent basis but turn to the channel on Sunday after the fact which sucks big time. laters all peter

Doing homework, school and life etc...

I don't know why but for this past week, I just didn't want to do any posts of any kind to this blog or any of the other blogs that I've on my site. I guess its partly due to the fact that my brother was in town last week, and in turn didn't feel up to doing homework in any fashions to any great extent or do a lot of postings. As I'm writing this post, that I've noticed or realized that I tend to a lot of posts during a several week periods then in other weeks I tend to whole lot less posts for a week or more. Just that some of the time there things that I would like to talk about and such. Then there are other things that I don't tend to get around to comment on or talk about anything in specific or in general. Plus, as the spring semester comes to a close at UAF, I tend to put off of doing homework as much as I can before everything is due before the next class starts the next week. This is the first year that I've been at UAF that I've taken more than 9 credits during a semester. Like, for example, Fall 2004 I took 5 classes and now in Spring 2005 I'm taking 4 classes, in which I could do every year to get closer to my desired degree's. However, in my case it depends greatly on what courses that I do register for the next term at UAF. Like for the Fall 2005 term I'm planning to take at least 2 classes, 1 math class and a communications class. Though, I'm thinking of taking one more class, but just don't know what else to take. I probably should have one more class next fall, but at this point I'm not sure that I really want to take 3 classes. But, then I'll probably decide on what other classes I need when I go and talk to advisers about my class schedule for this coming fall. laters all peter

I finally got around to seeing a movie at the local cineplex, haven't been to movie at the theater say like in a good six months to 1 yr. The that I was able to see and get into on a late Thursday night was SinCity with Bruce Willis. Its one of those movies where you need to be on time for to see. Not like 15 or 20 minutes late after the movie started, which happened with me, as I saw it with my older brother, who was in town this past week. The movie itself was good, and it would've been better if I was able to see the beginning of the movie. This gives me a reason to see Sin City again in the afternoon when the ticket prices aren't so high. Plus, there are some other movies that I would like see but I might not cause of many reasons. laters peter

I just wonder if this is going to be a trend in all public schools across the country. It would be interesting to find out over the next several years, that other states would do. laters

Final Project Proposal

The final project for this class would be to gather, collect, and follow Soccer Clubs here in the U.S. and several soccer/football teams from England, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I would also link to big soccer/football site's and Soccer Club site - if available. The reason is that I've always liked soccer, in some fashion. In this project I would be focusing on 6 to 12 soccer clubs - those based here in the U.S. and in the U.K. I might use the following tools in addition to the required parts for the final project:

Macromedia & Adobe

I recently read that Adobe is buying out Macromedia for US$ 3.4Billion in a stock deal. Its seems that the only really good products that Adobe have are Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat. Their other products are O.K. and all but it just seems that this 'merger' or 'buy out' just seems wrong to me. Don't know why but it does. I just hope that products from Macromedia don't get discontinued. Knowing my luck, Macromedia product more than likely would disappear altogether after a period of time after the buyout. laters peter
